Here at Rise Against Abuse, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. Born during the global pandemic, we set out to stop the ever continuing cycle of abuse that has plagued our society. Collectively, we are a group of survivors who set out to support, inform and invoke change across the UK.
The UK government has identified domestic abuse as a national emergency of epidemic levels (December 2024)
We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. Our aim is to educate our society on domestic abuse, the dynamics of an abusive relationship and how to support those those impacted by abuse.
Our Mission
Is to improve the quality of life for victims during and after abuse. To do so, we are based in Scotland but have outreach UK wide, supporting victims, informing the public and practitioners of the reality of abuse, and how to support those experiencing this.

We work tirelessly to educate men and women about the many aspects of domestic abuse, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help us expand our impact.
**Role Overview:**
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Volunteer Funding Manager to lead and manage our fundraising initiatives. This role is crucial in helping us secure the necessary funding to continue our work and grow our impact. As a Volunteer Funding Manager, you will develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and oversee grant applications.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet the financial needs of the organisation.
- Identify, research, and pursue potential funding opportunities including grants, donations, and sponsorships.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, sponsors, and funding bodies.
- Lead the preparation and submission of grant applications, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met.
- Manage fundraising events and campaigns, coordinating with team members to maximize outreach and donations.
- Monitor fundraising progress and provide regular updates to the executive team.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and ethics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire potential donors.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
